Apple’s Countdown to 1 Billion

When the iPhone 3G came out last June, I bought into the hype and gave up my trusty BlackBerry 8800. I left all my BlackBerry Messenger contacts for Apple’s Orchard of Applications. We all know that’s all the iPhone is good for cause it definitely sucked ass handling my work email.

Three months later, my iPhone 3G is sold to an unsuspecting Chinese man looking for a Christmas present for his wife and I’m back using a BlackBerry, this time the Bold (PIN: 24A4F8E5) The fact that he was buying a used iPhone for his wife’s Christmas present was either a testament to the crappiness of the iPhone for him not to want to buy her a new one, the realities of the economy kicking everyone’s ass, or merely him being Chinese. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it’s a combination of the three.

Anyhow, Apple is always doing something right as they are set to sell their 1 BILLIONTH App. And with this milestone of epic porportions looming, so too loom the chances of winning some kick ass prizes. Top prize appears to be the $10,000 iTunes gift card but personally, I think the MacBook Pro to be a more useful prize cause honestly, who the hell needs $10,000 worth of songs and movies and apps? Music and movies you can download for free and one can only use so many Farting Applications; so I guess what I’m saying is that most Apps are crap…literally.
